Zephyr by Mackenzie was born out of our dad’s nickname, a name that holds deep significance in our family’s history. Growing up, our father dreamed of owning an artisanal picture frame company called Zephyr Frames. He spent countless hours crafting frames from wood, instilling in us a love for artistry and craftsmanship.

Though our childhood home wasn’t an interior decor haven, we, the Mackenzie sisters, have always possessed a passion for aesthetics and an innate appreciation for beauty.

Even when we were little, we loved making our home look nice. We’d often move around furniture and tidy up the living room to make it look good before our parents got home. At Christmas, we’d get excited about decorating, making our own ornaments and decorations to put up in our rooms. These times were special to us because they let us be creative and make our space beautiful. It was during these moments that we started to really love design and art, and understand how they could change the feel of a home.  

The name Zephyr, inspired by our father’s dreams, symbolizes a gentle breeze, while Mackenzie conveys being favored children of a wise leader.
